"Apocalyptic blues caterwaul for the last saloon on earth, by the almighty pairing of Oxbow and the beast from Wuppertal...
‘An Eternal Reminder Of Not Today’ was recorded live at Germany’s free jazz-rooted Moers Festival, replete with crowd noise appreciation for the powerful upfront fusion of Eugene Robinson’s bellow and Brötzmann’s howling sax. From whiskey-soaked opener ‘Angel’ thru the crushing tristesse and torment evoked by ‘The Valley’, the melded units veer between exclamatory free jazz noise rock on ‘Cat and Mouse’, and lurching metal on ‘A Gentleman’s Gentleman’, with a searing peak of yoked-back blues in ‘Over’ and something like early Sleep or Earth-tempo radical blues in the molasses wade of ‘The Finished Line.’ No doubt they’re seriously putting some back into it here, living up to respective, fearsome reputations for live performance."

"If you like Brötzmann or Oxbow, you will love the shit out of this LP....For real, whoever booked this set deserves a spot in festival-organiser Valhalla. This is a chocolate and peanut butter situation, a match made in heaven. There’s a strange alchemy to Oxbow, after all these years together. Magnetic frontman Eugene S. Robinson, guitarist Niko Wenner, bassist Dan Adams, and drummer Greg Davis manage to conjure up a sound that’s both elegant and punch drunk, suave and staggering, debonair and debauched. Robinson is in complete control of his instrument, whipping conspiratorial whispers into pained howls and back again. Somehow both measured and bombastic, Oxbow have an almost uncanny ability to leave exactly the right space at exactly the right time so Brötzmann can do his thing. And let me tell you, friends, he honks...Oxbow and Peter Brötzmann come together in a nightmare soul revue..."
- The Quietus
"...art-punk visionaries Oxbow with German free-jazz trailblazer Peter Brötzmann, whose steely eruptions perfectly complement the band’s raunchy noise-blues convulsions and vocalist Eugene Robinson’s wild-eyed, part-muttered/part-crooned/part-screamed ravings...a potent hint of the maniacal energy that the wider world of metal could always use more of." - Hank Shteamer for SPIN

Love the new record! Their absolute best in my opinion. It's a heavy disaster and a beautiful heartache. The video for "Lovely Murk" is particularly interesting. bartthetruth78
A mind-blowing batch of jazz-informed hardcore exploding with drill-press riffing and throat-destroying howls. Really great! Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 6, 2022
